CESCA CHAIR WITH VIENNA STRAW AND NATURAL BEECH FINISH

Really refined in its simplicity, this chair was called   “Cheska” after the daughter of the famous designer. Today it is generally called “Cesca”. The use of  Vienna straw for the back rest and seat is an obvious link with Thonet chairs.  The arm rest version is also attractive. It was one of the first cantilever chairs along with those by  Stam and Mies Van der Rohe. The first cantilever chair is offically attributed to  Stam.  This was eventually established by a German court after lengthy legal proceedings.

Construction: in  highly resistant chromed metal tubes (diametre Ø mm 25x2) with welded caps
Seat and backrest : in Vienna straw
Edges : in natural  beech
